Dominican Brunch

On February 26th, the school celebrated our Dominican heritage with a virtual Dominican Brunch.

Hosted by our School Principal, Ms. Trinidad, the brunch provided the opportunity for each family to prepare a typical Dominican breakfast for our students to share and eat during recess time.

Among the dishes presented the “Mangú con 3 golpes” was a favorite. Prepared from mashed green plantains and accompanied by fried white cheese, salami, and fried eggs, this plate shows the wide range of tastes of the Dominican people.

Other foods prepared where: “Pan de agua con chocolate” (Bread and hot chocolate), “Harina del Negrito” (Sweet Grits), “Arepa” (Dominican Corn Cake), “Huevos revueltos” (Scramble eggs), and assorted “Víveres” (Tubers).

We appreciate the participation of all the CCMS community.
